My first trip to London was short and sweet. I only had a weekend in the city after a week of work in Cambridge. A friend and I took advantage of every moment, walking as much of the city as we could, riding the underground and even venturing out to the Harry Potter set. One afternoon, we were in need of a break and stumbled across the most adorable bakery in Covent Garden. When I came back to London almost 2 years later, I had to go return. B Bakery is a great place to stop in for a quick treat (eat in or “take away”), or you can book their more formal afternoon tea.
Seeing as we’d already checked out this delicious bakery on our first day, we made it a point to stop for a pastry somewhere at least once a day during our the remainder of our trip. In my opinion, no one beat B Bakery’s superb fruit tart, but we tasted some pretty strong contenders. Sampling the food and desserts when traveling is a great way to experience a new place. I highly recommend daily pastries, but how you choose to taste your way through a city is up to you 🙂
